Description

Glow Tetras, scientifically referred to as Paracheirodon innesi, are small, colorful freshwater fish native to the clear waters of South America’s blackwater tributaries, including the Rio Negro and the Amazon River basin. These tetras are renowned for their striking fluorescent blue and red colors that illuminate aquariums, hence their common name “Glow Tetras” or “Neon Tetras.”

In their natural habitat, Glow Tetras inhabit densely vegetated areas with slow-moving or still waters. They typically school in large numbers near the surface, feeding on small invertebrates and zooplankton. Their iridescent colors serve as a form of camouflage, helping them blend into the dappled sunlight filtering through the dense vegetation.
