Rummynose Tetras

Description

Rummynose Tetras (Hemigrammus rhodostomus) are small, peaceful freshwater fish native to South America, particularly the Amazon River basin. They are prized for their distinctive appearance, with bright red noses that extend to their eyes and contrasting silver bodies. These tetras are schooling fish and thrive in groups of six or more, creating a stunning display of color and movement in the aquarium.

In addition to their eye-catching appearance, Rummynose Tetras are known for their peaceful temperament, making them excellent community tank residents. They are compatible with a wide range of tankmates, including other tetra species, dwarf cichlids, and peaceful bottom-dwelling fish like Corydoras catfish. However, they should not be kept with aggressive or larger species that may intimidate or prey on them.
