Description

The Bosemani Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia boesemani) is a stunning freshwater species prized for its vibrant colors and dynamic personality. Originating from the rivers and streams of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, these fish are known for their iridescent scales that shimmer in various hues of blue, green, yellow, and orange. In aquariums, Bosemani Rainbows thrive in schools of six or more individuals, displaying their best colors when kept in spacious tanks with plenty of swimming room. They are peaceful and social creatures, making them excellent additions to community setups with other non-aggressive fish species. Bosemani Rainbows are omnivores and will eagerly accept a varied diet consisting of high-quality flakes, pellets, frozen foods, and live insects. Providing a well-planted aquarium with ample hiding spots and open swimming areas will help recreate their natural habitat and keep them happy and healthy. These active swimmers appreciate moderate water flow and slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with temperatures ranging from 75?F to 82?F (24?C to 28?C). Regular water changes and proper filtration are essential for maintaining optimal water quality for Bosemani Rainbowfish.
